About this blog

This blog provides guidance for linux users at the University of Amsterdam. It presents step-by-step guides on how to use some of the services provided by the UvA, such as the eduroam wireless internet connection, wireless printing and VPN connection. It also recommends a few pieces of open source software you might find useful as a student at the UvA. The guides were written using ubuntu 10.10, but they could also be useful for other linux distributions.

NOTE: Since I no longer live in Amsterdam, I have no way of making sure if the instructions on this blog are still accurate. If there are any current UvA students or staff who would like to contribute to keep this blog alive and up-to-date, please leave a replay so we can get in touch.
